Hello! I have lots of photos and stories to share from Rwanda since getting back from Tanzania and Zanzibar. For today, I wanted to check in with some images from various recent adventures. The first are from yet another trip back from Musanze. My friends Saira and Yoni were gorilla tracking, and I tagged along for the ride out of Kigali. The sunrise shots were taken roadside around 5, as per the early departure out of the city. On the way back, we stopped at the same waterfall I shared a few posts back—it never ceases to stun, and now that the rainy season has begun in earnest, the surrounding greenery is all the more lush.

These next few shots were taken in Nyamirambo, the Muslim quarter of Kigali. It’s such an astoundingly alive place and its vibes stand in stark contrast to the otherwise controlled Kigali atmosphere. There’s a women’s center there as well that offers walking tours of the quarter, and helps employ local women while simultaneously training them in practical crafts. They make gorgeous goods with their textiles, and it’s certainly worth checking out if you’re in Kigali.

Finally, here are some shots a golden afternoon from Les Enfants de Dieu (EDD) the center for street boys I’ve been volunteering at. EDD warrants multiple posts of its own, and I have absurd quantities of photos from my afternoons there, so I’ll be sure to share more on that soon. In short, it’s a truly exceptional place and the boys there are some of the most spectacular little humans I’ve ever encountered.

More to come this week! Follow along for additional updates on Facebook and Instagram as well.
